Attorney Lane Fitzgerald: One thing that inspires me is people’s resilience, people’s ability to bounce back. You have a lot of people when they come in this office, they don’t necessarily want to be here. Very few people walk into an attorney’s office wanting to be there. Normally people who come into an attorney’s office, it’s out of a necessity. It’s out of something that’s happened in their life. Regardless of whether it be financial, criminal, or familial related, it doesn’t really matter which, but most people don’t willingly into an attorney’s office.
So I think it’s the ability of clients to have the understanding that we are going to do everything we can for them. The ability to know that the court system does move at, in my opinion (which is no fault of the court system on it’s own, it’s just backlog), does move kind of at a glacial speed. So people’s ability to understand and to bounce back from things that may have happened to them that they either 1) didn’t have any control over and 2) just over time things just got away from them. I think that’s one of the biggest things.
